At Home Coffee Favorites for Amateur Coffee Drinkers

As much as I would love to be able to buy coffee out all the time, my budget and wallet (aka Ryan) won’t allow it. Especially with being quarantined over the last year, getting a daily coffee out was not an option. Because of that I (along with everyone else) was forced to create my own drinks!

I should say that I am somewhat of a novice when it comes to coffee. It’s only been over the last few years that I have acquired a taste for coffee. I used to be (and I still am sometimes) just a gas station cappuccino kind of gal, but over the years, and with a lot of trial and error I’ve found what I like and what I don’t like!

I recently switched to cold brew now that the weather is starting to warm up a bit. I found this great pitcher to make my own at home. It’s under $20 (I have the one quart), and the two quart is just under $30. It’s super easy to use and is pretty much fool proof. I have found over the years that I really prefer lighter roasts-this Starucks blend is a favorite! I typically let the coffee brew anywhere from 12-24 hours depending on how strong I want it!

I don’t always froth the cream I use, but sometimes I do! This handheld frother is really easy to use and is only $15! This creamer is really the only one I use-I prefer sweet…the sweeter the better! If you want to make it extra tasty, adding coffee ice cubes helps to keep it from watering down when the ice melts!

As far as accessories, I use glass tumblers a lot. The ones I have are pretty old (and I believe I got them from the Dollar section at Target), but I love these and these!

I also shared this set of plastic tumblers the other day. They’re meant for kids, but Ryan and I have been using them so much! Easy to clean, the perfect size, and they’re adorable!

Reusable straws have been something that we’ve been making the switch to over the last couple of years. I have found that I am always reaching for these when I need one. They’re BPA free and come with cleaning brushes, although we just toss them in the dishwasher a lot!

When I don’t drink cold brew I use my single cup Keurig a lot. If you don’t have a lot of coffee drinkers in your house (I’m the only one in my house that drinks it) the single cup is probably the easiest! It also doesn’t take up a lot of counter space, which is ideal for us!

What are your coffee favorites? What’s your go-to drink??
