How to Create a Week's Worth of Outfits with 5 Items
As much as I love shopping, I must say I do love a good basic, and I love styling it multiple ways. I also love the idea of a capsule wardrobe, or something similar to it. I’ve thought about doing it but for some reason the thought makes me a tad nervous haha!
I think it’s because I tend to get bored sometimes with some of my clothes, so I feel like having some sort of a capsule wardrobe would leave me feeling bored.
BUT!
There is a lot to be said for having a closet full of basics. It’s such a great foundation to build on and add to, plus there is so much versatility right at your fingertips!
My friend and assistant, Trish and I rounded up five simple basics that most women have in their closet (or some sort of variation) and created enough easy, mix and match outfits for you to get you through a week!
We tried to focus on neutrals that are easily mixed and matched. I think the strongest piece is the black midi/maxi dress! Yes, it looks great on its own, maybe even with a denim jacket tossed over it, but they are so great for layering, too!
I love tossing on a button up like the white top or the chambray and knotting it. You don’t have to save the knot for the button ups, either! Taking a simple striped tank like the black and white one we picked looks adorable, too!
If you’re feeling like your looks are too simple, accessories always add the perfect finishing touch! From a fun Panama hat to a chic belt bag, you’ll instantly elevate your look!
Also the beauty of these pieces is that you can dress them up a bit by swapping your shoes, whether its a cute wedge or a fun sneaker!
