Plain White Tee's: Seven Tee’s to Add to Your Closet

I get asked a good bit of questions, from parenting, to beauty to fashion, but one I get asked more than others is what my favorite white tee shirts are.

For me personally, white tee shirts are things in my closet that I go through pretty quickly. I wear them a lot and I wear them hard!

Let’s take a look at several, ranging in price from $5-$30! We’ll chat fit, material, thickness and how it wears!

Everlane Air Oversized Crew Tee

I have tried Everlane pants before but never their tee shirts! In an effort to branch out I wanted to give them a try!

As far as sizing the fit is true. Just like it’s name says, it is a bit oversized. I does have a slightly boxy fit to it so if you are looking for something a little more fitted this might not be what you’re looking for. Despite the fact that it is boxy, it does not have a cropped cut, which is nice!

Even though it’s 100% cotton it does have a bit of stretch to it. It is not a thicker cotton, but I wasn’t concerned with it being too sheer. With how soft the shirt is, I do think it’s easy to do a front tuck and even knot.

Overall, I think this would be the kind of plain white tee that would be better casual than dressed up.

Madewell Whisper Cotton Rib-Crewneck Tee

I’m partial to crew neck tee’s. This is a longtime favorite of mine and one that I have in other colors. Because of the fit and cut is easy to dress up and down. It does stretch out a bit, but not too much that it makes it unwearable.

It is 100% cotton and slightly sheer-like the tiniest bit. I’d describe it as having a lived in feeling to it. The tulip hem of the bottom is flattering if you prefer to leave it untucked, but it does tuck easily if you prefer the front tuck.

As for sizing, it does fit true. I wear a large and it fits snug but not too tight. If you’d like the fit to be looser I suggest sizing up.

Old Navy EveryWear Slub Knit Tee

I feel like the fit of this is very similar to the Madewell Whisper tee. The only difference is the price, and the collar isn’t ribbed like Madewell’s and it’s a bit longer.

It has a tulip hem at the bottom, creating a flattering cut. With a relaxed fit, it has that lived in look and feel to it (without being dingy). It’s not as soft as other’s I’ve worn and I do feel like it has a bit more structure to it.

Like the Madewell tee though, it is easy to dress up or down, whether you’re going to lounge around the house or heading to work. Sizing is true-I wear the large with plenty of room.

Old Navy Luxe Crew-Neck Tee

This shirt is probably the softest out of all of them. I have been a fan of Old Navy Luxe tees for years. The quality is great for the price and they wash and wear very well.

One of the things I also love about them is the thickness of the material. I feel like they aren’t very sheer which is a nice change from some of the other tee’s.

The length is also great, too if you prefer to wear tee’s with leggings. I personally love it with a little front tuck or a knot (surprise!). The 5% Spandex makes it easy to knot if you like, but it also drapes nicely when tucking it!

I will say I do with that I would have sized up. I am wearing the large, and while it fits well, I think I would be more comfortable in the XL.

Target Short Sleeve Cuff T-Shirt

This tee is not only incredibly soft, but is nice and thick, too. It’s not sheer, it doesn’t have that worn in, lived in look or feel to it which I kind of like for a change.

The cuffed sleeves give it a really casual vibe, but the material makes it easy to dress up if you need to. It has a bit of stretch to it as well and hits just about at the hips! It does not stretch out and holds it’s shape which is nice!

I am wearing the large. It fits comfortably so I would say it’s true to size!

I don’t love this one, but I don’t hate it. It’s supposed to be crew neck, but I feel like it almost has a mock neck vibe to it.

Lengthwise, it’s perfect, and it looks great tucked in as well. I am wearing the large and do think that to wear it comfortably I would need the XL. It’s a bit thinner than the Target Short Sleeve Cuff T-Shirt but is equally as soft. I feel like it is the kind of shirt that keeps it’s shape.

This tee actually came recommended by one of you, and I’m so glad I go it! They come in a two pack-I got it in black and white!

The quality is awesome, there is plenty of stretch to it, and it’s nice and thick. It’s a little longer in length, which I kind of prefer, and it lays nicely when tucked in!

I am wearing the XL and it fits somewhat snug, so I would definitely recommend sizing up!
