How I Stay Organized-My Favorite Planners and Calendars
I am not the most unorganized person, but I am certain there are others that have it together more than I do. I will say though, one thing that I always seem to do well with is keeping a planner and calendar. I rely on them to keep me on track both personally and professionally.
When it comes to a planner, I am really particular for some reason. I love the planners that have monthly pages as well as daily. I’m not in need of the hourly slots, or any fancy stickers (I usually toss them if the planner I like has them).
When it comes to content and using my calendar, I try to plan out as far as I can on my monthly calendars. Once that is complete I fill in the daily to-do’s that correspond with my content. (ex: if I have a video to go live on 1/29 I will work on it 1/26).
I also like to take time on Saturdays or Sundays (or sometimes even Mondays if I was lazy during the weekend) to plan out my week-my to-do’s, appointments, meetings, etc. That way I have an idea when the week starts what my days will look like.
Another calendar that I recommend in some way is a family monthly and/or weekly calendar. It has been a lifesaver for us as far as knowing what our weeks entail. The weekly calendar is super useful for meal planning as well!
I splurged on this acrylic calendar for all of our monthly to-do’s and it has been amazing. We had a small dry erase on our old fridge and it just didn’t hold up well. I felt getting something a little nicer would last! I also have one of these in my office for strictly blog content. Can’t recommend them enough!
Our chalkboard weekly calendar is no longer available but I’ve found similar options for you (linked below). Who knew something so simple would be such a motivator in planning our meals. Besides looking adorable it serves such a great purpose! I’ve started to share some of our recipes, too on instagram-there is a highlight saved!
Lastly, another thing I rely on to keep me organized and my thoughts in one place is just a blank journal! I use it for meetings, brainstorming, anything and everything! If there is something I need to reference, chances are it’s in my journal/notebook. It’s not so much a “feelings” type journal but notes, ideas, content, etc.
