Style Session: Black Midi Skirt Styled 4 Ways
Hope you all are having a great week so far! Yesterday on Instagram, I partnered with Natalie, Sandy and Ashley to style our own midi skirts multiple ways! One thing I love about midi skirts is that they truly can be versatile. I do think one thing to consider when trying a midi skirt is finding the ideal length. Being only 5'4" there are some hit me at a weird spot on my legs and just cut me off, making me look even shorter than I already am! It can be a bit of trial and error when it comes to trying different styles, but I assure you there is one out there for you! Don't let anyone tell you that you have to be a certain height to wear them-just got for it!I have been loving wearing midi and maxi skirts while pregnant-they really have been incredibly comfortable and work well with my growing bump! This particular one caught my eye because of the stretch it has to it (plenty), and with the ribbed texture, it will be easy to carry into the fall season, and even the winter! As for sizing, I opted for the XL. If I weren't pregnant, I would have gotten the large, but wanted to size up to accommodate the belly! When styling it, I tried to dress it up a bit (hence the heels and Moto jacket) but really opted for more casual, day to day looks! Using my denim jacket and utility jacket were no brainers-they are staples in my wardrobe year round, no matter the season! They're great for layering and just adding a little more depth to your look! Plus to me they never go out of style!
I loved the idea of wearing the skirt with this adorable leopard cami! I also plan to wear the cami with jeans and a cardigan, or even the Moto jacket, but it looks great with a front tuck! Not a fan of the heels, or don't need it to be as dressy? Swap the heels for a pair of sneakers and it'll make the overall look a little more casual!Shop the LookI just love this look! I grabbed the sweater the other week in the sweltering heat but I couldn't resist! I ended up sizing down to a medium! One of my favorite fall looks is to pair a chunky knit sweater with a floppy hat and booties-such a classic, fall outfit! These booties are from last year and not in stock so I found a similar, cute pair that would look just as adorable!
This might be my favorite! I love adding my utility jacket with just about any look and I think with this outfit, it ties everything together! I've had this jacket for several months, and plan on keep it for a long time-my last utility jacket I had for a couple of years-their style is timeless! While I love this look with a plain white tee it would look great with a graphic tee, too!
